Earlier this year i saw Rear Window. It was made by the Master Of Suspence, Alfred Hitchcock. Many people don't know this but Disturbia (2007), yes the one with Shia LeBouf, was a remake of it. Rear Window features James Stewart and Grace Kelly. When i started watching i thought it would be like any other 50's movie but i was happily wrong. Stewart's character, Jefferies, is a photojournalist who is bedridden after an accident on the job. He is unable to leave his appartment so he seeks entertainment outside his window. The photographer owns an apartment that looks out on a New York City courtyard, a small alley gives Jefferies a glimse of the street beyond the building. His window frames every shot as Jefferies describes all his diverse neighbors. The cinematography is impeccable. it really is a must see. the character development is so interesting to watch. i comment Hitchcock on his creativity, just think, making a movie taking place in one room of an apartment and the view from outside. It runs a total 112 minutes of pure entertainment. A must-add to anyone's must-see list.
This is my FAVORITE movie of all time - I think I've seen it at least 20 times. Voyeurism, clausterphobia, suspense, Grace Kelly - it has it all!
